Bike Lanes In The City Of Victoria

Expansion of Victoria’s bike lane network could help you get around the city safer and faster while protecting the environment. The Project to build a protected bike lane network for all abilities and ages has been a priority for the city of victoria since early 2017.  Starting with the first protected bike lane on Pandora Avenue, and then on Fort Street last year. This year, the city is hoping to complete the five-point-four kilometre downtown minimum area, and in following years, branch out to Saanich. The intended outcome for the bike network is to find more ways to move people around and also make it safe and accessible. The city’s official community plan has estimated that sixty-percent of all trips will be made without a personal vehicle by 2041. Public transit although accessible, isn’t exactly the greenest or fastest option. Walking is as green as you’ll get but it’s not always fast or even an option for some. This leaves cycling as the last alternative to getting stuck...
